Can you book a trip to space right now?

Not yet.

No short rocket flights are running. Blue Origin has paused for at least two years, and Virgin Galactic's next commercial flight is targeted for February 2027 at the earliest, though it does sell seats. Orbital trips still fly, but cost tens of millions and go mostly to governments and charter buyers. Balloon flights to the stratosphere are the cheapest option, and the first is expected in 2027.

Rocket flights to the edge of space

Flights of 10 to 90 minutes, with a few minutes of weightlessness at the top.

Orbital missions

Days in orbit or on a space station, at prices in the tens of millions.

Balloon flights to the stratosphere

Gentle six-hour rides to 25–30 km, high enough to see the curve of the Earth and a black sky, but not true space and no weightlessness.

Something you can book today: the 2027 total solar eclipse

On 2 August 2027, totality lasts up to 6 minutes 22 seconds near Luxor, the longest on land until 2114. It needs only an ordinary flight and a hotel room.

How we keep this page honest

Every date here is the company's own target, not a promise. Space companies miss targets often, so we treat a date as firm only once a flight has happened. We recheck each operator when significant news breaks and update the date at the top of the page.
